Are Discrimination Laws Secretly Hurting Women?

Sheryl Sandberg’s recently published book “Lean In” has been described as the modern manifesto for women in the workplace. I can also attest that it offers just as much value for men. Despite having worked both with and for women for decades the book gave me a clearer perspective the unique challenges and difficult decisions women face while managing their careers.  “Lean In” also highlights a significant issue faced by employers when it comes to how to retain female employees who decide to…See More

Are you Prepared for the Super Contribution Increase?

Superannuation is a crucial part of an employee’s benefits package and is heavily regulated, so when changes are proposed to superannuation legislation, employers need to be fully educated and prepared. This is just one part of the “Stronger Super” reform and whilst it may be daunting for employers, July is fast…See More

Is this the end of the 9-5?

What’s on the horizon? The Labour Government has proposed changes to legislation around requests for flexible working arrangements, but insists that employers will still have the right to refuse these requests on reasonable grounds.
