Why you should blog more (or start!)

The rate of blogging on the HR Daily Community has slowed a little this week, so I thought I'd share some stats that might inspire you to get writing!

In the six weeks since our launch, the Community has had nearly 10,000 visits, and 18,000 page views, 15,000 of which were individual blog posts.

Michael Sleap's post on performance reviews is the most popular to date, attracting 2,700+ views since it was published a month ago.

Next on the leaderboard, Michael Brisciana's post just last week, Connecting people: "HR by walking around", has had 1,600+ visits, and Nicole Underwood's Are you green and growing or ripe and rotten? has had 1,200+ in the past few weeks.

Page views for most of the 57 posts on the site are in the hundreds.

Could your personal brand, and therefore your company, benefit from this kind of exposure?

I know from speaking to people at breakfasts, conferences and other networking events that you all have great stories to tell. Don't be shy - think about what you could share from your experience as a human resources practitioner and put it out there for your peers to benefit from.

As always, I'll be linking to your posts in HR Daily on Friday.

I agree Jo. There are lots of good professional and personal rewards for writing a blog, and as you say, everyone has great stories to tell. I find that not only can I help share professional information and discuss issues and ideas, but it gives me a great personal sense of community and bonding.

I highly recommend both blogging generally, and this forum in particular. I think it is becoming a very genuine community.
